Michael Shapiro, Ph.D.

Dr. Michael Shapiro is a fully licensed psychologist specializing in clinical neuropsychology. 
Prior to joining Neuropsychology Consultants, Dr. Shapiro was a faculty member at Penn State University for several years. His clinical interests include adult neuropsychological evaluation and psychotherapy (individual and couple). He also has extensive training and experience working with college student populations in therapy as well as evaluation of Learning Disorders and ADHD.  

Dr. Shapiro earned his Ph.D in Counseling Psychology in 2010 from Penn State University with research focused on examination of neurophysiology associated with emotion regulation and cognitive function. He completed his Pre-Doctoral Internship at the University of Illinois - Chicago; during this time he worked in the University Counseling Center providing
individual, couples, and group therapy while also gaining advanced neuropsychological training at the Neuropsychiatric
Institute. Dr. Shapiro completed a two-year fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ where he gained further expertise working with individuals referred for evaluation of dementia, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and traumatic brain injury.
